Pottery Experience:
While working to finish my masters degree in 1996, I began to long for something to relieve the intensity and stress of my thesis project. So I took a pottery class at a studio in downtown Seattle. As soon as I felt the clay slip between my fingers, memories of rare content came flooding back to me. When I was in high school, I took as many art classes as I could. I was the president of the art club and I loved all my art classes, especially anything that had to do with clay. I even took pottery classes my first year in college and when I went to Japan for a semester abroad. But I left clay when I left Japan in 1984. In 1996, I rediscovered my love of clay, and I have been making and selling pottery ever since. With a pottery studio in my home, I am able to practice and improve my skills as well as offer others a chance to play and experiment with clay.
